City police report that there have been at least seven burglaries of apartme
nts in the Shadyside and East end areas since November. The burglaries have
occurred during daylight hours and have occurred on Shady and Dennison Avenu
es, Marchand Street, Howe Street, and Elmer Street.
Entry has been gained by prying open building doors. Items taken have includ
ed electronic game systems, laptop computers, IPods, jewelry, and cash. The
