'The Hypocrisy Knows No Bounds': Gohmert Blasts Comey as 'Leaker-in-Chief'
President Donald Trump took to Twitter this morning to blast former FBI
Director James Comey as a "leaker."
Trump said he felt "complete vindication" from yesterday's Senate testimony
despite "so many false statements and lies."
Comey acknowledged in the hearing that he passed the contents of private
memos about his conversations with Trump to the New York Times through a
friend.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) reacted this morning on "Fox & Friends," saying
the tweet this morning was "appropriate" and calling out Comey's "hypocrisy."
"For it to turn out that the guy that was head of the FBI while the Obama
administration prosecuted more leakers than all the other administrations
put together and it turns out he was a leaker-in-chief. ... It really does
appear he's been after Trump for a while now," he said.
Gohmert criticized Comey for keeping detailed memos on his discussions with
Trump, but not with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
Comey revealed at the hearing that he was "concerned" by a directive from
Lynch to refer to the Hillary Clinton email probe as a "matter," not a
criminal investigation. | c******e
