x****a 发帖数: 817 | 1 ... and, the risks and my concerns.
First of all, I am what you guys will call, often with a sense of contempt,
"a lefty", especially in the social issues. I am pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-
lgbt, pro-BLM, ..., you name it. A typical west-coast lefty, and I am proud
of my positions. BTW: I think I am in the main stream in US and even the
whole world, and you guys are not, sorry, but that's true.
But, this is not the point of this post. The point is, after serious
considerations, I think I can support Mr. Trump in 2016.
Even though I am a lefty, or maybe because I am a lefty, I try to keep an
open mind. The biggest problem that I could never bring myself to support a
"traditional" conservative - which is pretty much everyone from the right
before Mr. Trump - is that they seem to think: "being conservative means
resisting any kind of change or deviation from the perceived tradition".
To me, that's just brain-dead, and also unfit to my oriental up-bringing of
the Tao and ying/yang - the philosophy that "change" is the only truth in
this universe.
But, Mr. Trump is not like that, not at all.
They say he's not consistent, he flip-flops, and even a con-man. To me, that
's a good sign. That means he's the only one from the "conservative" ranks,
who actually can embrace changes. That's why I can consider supporting him
in 2016.
Now, the risks and concerns:
No doubt Mr. Trump is a populist, which by the way is not a necessarily a
good term in political sense. We from China all know that there've been so
many very bad things done in the name of "we the people". So, we the people,
should be suspicious about "we the people".
And, maybe it's just his strategy, but he is trying to play with fire. I
know most of you guys don't like PC, but, imagine the opposite, if all of
sudden, a lot of your colleague, neighbors, even strangers, all start saying
things like "go back to where you are from", what are you going to do?
Some of you will say, well, some kids on the street are already saying that!
Well, if you think that's currently main stream in your life, then I do
feel sorry about your living conditions, and let me also encourage you to
consider "pull yourself up with your shoestring (or something like that)",
which is the favorite quote from the right, yes?
Let me repeat, Mr. Trump is playing with fire. Although I am glad to see
that he's pivoting to the middle, but it's not always the case that one
person can always control the mob, especially when the ugly sides are fired
up. PC, maybe inconvenient for some, is the lid. Get rid of PC, we, as
minority, are in grave danger of "we the people".
Real questions are: can we afford to take that risk, what will we gain, and
do we have to do it now?
It's impossible to answer all of those here, or ever. So, 2016, will be a
bet, especially for minorities like us. | c********e 发帖数: 4283 | 2 左逼人格分裂,一边大唱PC的赞歌,一边表示喜欢Trump的change.

Enough divide and conquer tactics from the UNIPARTY with their phony "
infightings" year after year upon phony and petty issues while trying their
best to divert from true issues -- that is, about $$$, where the $$$ comes
from, where it goes, who gets a smaller or a bigger share.
It's people vs. the establishment. Trump is probably not an ideal leader of
the people, however thus far he has already rattled the establishment so
much and they are already pulling off all stops to go after him.

And, the US is still talking about founding-fathers who are 300+ years old?
US is going to lose, if she doesn't embrace change.
