(CNSNews.com) - As part of a fundraising effort, the Democratic Senatorial
Campaign Committee is offering "a trip for two" to watch President Obama
speak at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.
The trip could be yours -- "if you contribute $5 now," Sen. Patty Murray
says in an email pitch. Murray, a Washington Democrat, chairs the DSCC.
"I think everyone remembers where they were when President Obama accepted
the 2008 nomination. That speech will go down in history as nothing short of
epic," Murray writes.
"Now, imagine being there. Picture yourself shoulder-to-shoulder in that
full stadium, hearing the roar of the crowd as the President delivers his
speech, and feeling the excitement surge through your fingertips."
In 2012, this could be you," Murray enthuses.
Contributors will be automatically entered for a chance to win air fare,
accommodation and tickets "to this once in a lifetime event."
Any size contribution is enough to enter the contest, Murray says – "
everyone gets a shot."
"Unforgettable moments like these don’t come often. This is your chance to
be part of a moment that will go down in history."
The fundraising appeal went out on the same day President Obama and his
presumed challenger, Republican Mitt Romney, announced their May fund-
raising hauls.
Romney and the Republican Party raised a combined $76.8 million in May, well
above the $60 million raised by Obama and the DNC. Both campaigns raised
more in May than they did in April. |
