Marietta Man in Yale Shooting Wants to be His Own Lawyer
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- A judge has ordered a competency hearing for an
unemployed doctor charged with killing a Yale University physician he once
worked with.
Lishan Wang is accused of shooting Vajinder Toor on April 26 outside Toor's
home in Branford. Police say he also fired at Toor's pregnant wife but
missed.

康州高等法院法官佛沙诺(Roland Fasano)17日下令，为被控枪杀耶鲁大学医生的华人
医生王立山举行出庭应讯能力(competency)的评估听证。但王立山不同意进行能力评估
，并表示要做自己的律师。
美联社报导，现年44岁的王立山是中国出生，犯案前失业在家，住格鲁吉亚州的马里耶
他市(Marietta)。他被控4月26日在布兰福市 (Branford)耶鲁大学医生图尔(Vajinder
Toor)的家门外，开枪杀害他。警方说，他还开枪射向图尔有身孕的妻子，但没有打中。
王立山在纽约金斯布鲁克犹太医疗中心(Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center)工作时，
曾与印度裔医生图尔等人发生冲突，导致他两年前被解雇。
佛沙诺法官下令进行能力评估，是为了检查王立山是否理解法律程序，和能够做到自我
辩护。
王立山的公共辩护人提出对他进行能力评估，但没说明是何原因，也没说明王立山是否
