My comment: Under Pres. Ma, Taiwan's unemployment rate hs goneup each month.
But the situation was worsened DRAMATICALLY last month (Nov.). Look at the
table. The November, 2008 unemployment rate was 4.62% (which was translated
into half a million Taiwanese unemployed), whereas the number a month before
(Oct. 2008) was 4.29% | c**i

My comment: In US, unemployment insurance is compulsory, covering all
employees. However, if one is at falt and fired, he is barred from receiving
unemployment benefits--another incentive for an employee to behave, besides
a letter of re
