I heard babies get sick a lot in day care. They have very low ratios, and separated room. is that enough to reduce the rate of infections? |

发帖数: 327 | 5 我们家的4个月大去了Bellevue的Bright Horizon. Infant room ratio是1:4. 3月入学
, 第一个月内就中耳炎了, 之后断断续续的, 夏天好些, 秋天换季还是会生病的.
其实真正生病最多的不是在infant room, 而是一岁到二岁的Toddler room里. 这个年
龄的小朋友可以到处爬/走, 见什么都往嘴里塞, 交叉感染非常严重. 我们家的几乎一
整年啊, 每三周病一次, 然后吃抗生素太平10天, 接着马上再病. 医生强烈要求我们给
娃装耳朵管子, 我们也预约了. 结果手术前, 升到二岁-三岁的toddler room里, 一下
子, 病好了, 连续4个月健康, 而且还是冬天, 直到上个月才又病了下, 我们就把手术
取消掉了. |

病他也病, 所以这2年来一家子都挺痛苦的. 狂敲木头, 从今往后, 可以少生病了... |

might reduce the risk. but guess that's too much to hope for.

我对bright horizon印象不错 只是太贵了 要说真值也不一定
bellevue那家还挺小的 娃的玩具也不太多吧
我家用的是kindercare 价格便宜 MS还有8折 只是infant的waiting list太长了 不好

waiting for opening at Everett Bright Horizons (Boeing Family Center) which
is closer to home and my work place. Bothell campus is located inside of an
office building, it's 50% more expensive than the Everett campus and also
the classroom is about 50% smaller -_-. But staff was friendly. My son only
got sick once when he went out on a buggy ride and didn't have enough
clothes on.
I would have to say the Bothell campus is more "educational" than the
Everett campus because the staff were reading a lot of children books to my
son everyday even when he was only 3 month old but in Everett they just let
him play with toys all the time and reading is only a tiny portion of their
daily routine if they read at all. Seems like they were really into the
ideas of early education. |

One thing about BH vs Kindercare debate is: BH is supposed to have less
staff turnover. I don't know whether Kindercare infants are separated from
toddlers. These factors would affect the health of the young infants.

发帖数: 3876 | 14 He stayed there for a month plus. Ratio is 1:4. There are 8 babies in
the infant room and there are two primary teachers; however, even though my
son goes to day care 5 days a week, I noticed a lot of the parents actually
only send their babies to BH 3/4 days a week, so on any given day, you would
have less than 8 babies in the room. And yes, the staff turnover seems to
be less. My son's primary teacher Paula has been working there for several
years.
