When I work from home, my MS Office Communicator will show Away if I do not
"touch" computer for a while. I do not have the access to change the setting
. What kind of software can I run to make sure the computer is having
activity so my boss will never find me Away during work hours? Thanks! |

The "greyed out" setting of MS communicator is -
Show Inactive after 5 min
Show Away after 15 min
I have no way to change the setting.
When I work from home, I want IM to show GREEN (Available) even when I am "
away", except two situations 1) it shows my MS Outlook info (i.e.In the
Meeting) 2) I intent to show Away.
Please shed some lights!

When I set it to Green (Available), the system will alter it to Inactive or
Away automatically under the rules (5 min or 15 min idle).
Of course I can re-set it back to Green when I am back.
My purpose is to hide the fact from people(i.e.boss) that I was away. So, I
want it to show Green all the time (supress the idle rules).

change the status settings in my OC. |

change it.

but you at most change them to 60 mins.

click on the up/down button to adjust the setting and save. |

AwayThreshold: 15
IdleThreshold: 5

想想，你老板看着你在线，给你发一条消息，结果你半天也不回，一下子就被戳穿了，
不是很惨？
（当然解决方法也是有的，比如，收到IM就给指定电话号码打电话。。当然这个技术
含量就更高了。。）
