Sex pistol(do I need to mention this one?)
Ramones(My favorite), My 1st choice 'Ramones Mania' when I need to drive for
more than 10 hrs.
undertones, pop-punk, but far better than today's blink 182, green day.
the Damned, the jam, buzzcocks, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Adverts,.....
Compare with 70's, today's punk rock really sucks. Almost all are pop-punk
bands. and All songs are similiar.
Hardcore punk, You should try Dead Kennedys's Fresh Fruit for Rotting
Vegeta

| L***n 发帖数: 3 | 7 There is no position for the band you mentioned in the top 10, or 20 best
hardcore punk bands. Those guys were only little kids when the best hardcore
punk albums appeared in 80's. But if you like it, that's Ok. That's your best.
By the way, How many punk albums do u have and how many have u listend to? If
only 10, 20, don't make your decision so fast. that's only the best album of
your all 10 albums.

it is only my opinion.. I actually own quite a few punk albums... and not to
mention that all my skating videos are full of punk music.. if u like punk..
then did u ever check out the Warp tour? I saw bouncing souls, pennywise,
dropkick murphy, orange 9mm... too bad bad religion wasn't playing that
particular tour.. I really wanted to see them..
Refused is relatively new.. and they are from sweden.. and they broke up r | t****d 发帖数: 127 | 9 hmm.. also... just because somebody came first.. that doesn't make them
automatically the best.. hehe..
and while we r on the topic of punk... u know what my biggest gripe with punk
is?... lack of intelligence... alot of punk are just thuggish white kids to
act silly and tough.. that is my opinion btw.. :-) However, just because it is
punk doesn't mean it has to be the lowest denominator... I think the clash,
sex pistols, modern lovers, the cure, and later punk bands like pennywise...

not so "Punk" compare with contempory Punk bands in UK.
"London Calling", "The Clash", "Sandinista!" are all great albums.
For Pre-Punk, you need to check The Velvet Underground, The stooges and Iggy
Pop, The Ramonds, The MC5.
For UK Punk, there are The Sex Pistol, The Clash, The Damns, etc.
For US Punk, there are the New York Dolls and some other CBGB stuff.
For Post-Punk and New Waves, there are the Television, the C

| M****n 发帖数: 399 | 15 Right, I was wrong, Modern Lovers should be included in Pre-Punk, or
Proto-Punk. In U.S., the punk movement has a lot of relationships with CBGB in
New York, so it's hard to define whether a punk band in CBGB is Proto, U.S.
Punk or Post-punk. Another important artist, Patti Smith is also from there,
although she is widely known as a Folk singer. But one of her influences, Lou
Reed is regarded as godfather of Punk, and her husband, Fred Smith was from
another Pre-Punk band, MC5.

say I liked everything that came out of it.. but def important..
yah.. I do agree that punk is more about attitude than the music itself..
however I think there r many ways to express that attitude.. attitudes doesn't
really change.. but the lingos change.. u know.. like hiphop.. it used to be
"word." now it is like "for sho".. hehe.. not like I care.. the point is that
I love the Clash for their exploration of the punk |
