.
1. Postdoctoral associate (x1):
We are seeking 1 highly motivated Postdoc to develop a biophotonic imaging
technology and to apply the developed technology for studying biological
cells and tissue. The research will employ state of the art structured
illumination methods to enable multiplexed molecular and functionally
imaging at unprecedented speed and localization. The research is jointly
sponsored by National Science Foundation (NSF), National Aeronautics and
Space Agency (NASA), and University of Houston internal awards. The Postdoc
is expected to take advantage of the unparalleled scientific resources and
support to develop technologies that have real impact to a broad range of
biological sciences and biomedical theranostics. The candidate needs to have
strong skills in experimental optical imaging and spectroscopy imaging.
Strong motivation to develop useful technology that has real impact is a
plus. Experience in modeling and simulation of plasmonics is another plus.
The candidate will participate in meetings, conferences, scientific reports,
publication and grant proposal writing. The candidate will effectively
collaborate with researchers in the Texas Medical Center and Department of
Chemistry.
2. Postdoctoral associate (x1):
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to develop novel nanostructured
biomolecular sensor technology and to apply the developed technology for
disease or pathogen biomarker detection and basic biological studies. The
research is jointly sponsored by National Science Foundation (NSF), National
Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), and University of Houston internal
awards. The Postdoc is expected to take advantage of the unparalleled
scientific resources and support to develop technologies that have real
impact to a broad range of biological sciences and biomedical theranostics.
The candidate needs to have strong skills in nanostructure design and
fabrication process integration. The candidate also needs to have strong
skills in nanofabrication such as nanolithography, thin film deposition,
etching and characterization, SEM and optical spectroscopy, etc. Strong
motivation to develop useful technology that has real impact is a plus.
Experience in surface functionalization is another plus. Experience in
modeling and simulation of plasmonics is yet another plus. The candidate
will participate in meetings, conferences, scientific reports, publication
and grant proposal writing. The candidate will effectively collaborate with
researchers in the Texas Medical Center and Department of Chemical &
Biomolecular Engineering.
3. Postdoctoral associate (x1):
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to develop a novel multi-modal
infrared hyperspectral imaging technology and to apply the developed
technology for stand-off environmental monitoring and sensing. The research
is sponsored by Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GoMRI) and University of
Houston internal funds. The Postdoc is expected to take advantage of the
unparalleled scientific resources and support to develop technologies that
have real impact to a broad range of biological sciences. The candidate
needs to have strong skills in experimental optical imaging and spectroscopy
imaging system development. Strong motivation to develop useful technology
that has real impact is a plus. Experience in computational image
reconstruction or compressed sensing is another plus. The candidate will
participate in meetings, conferences, scientific reports, publication and
grant proposal writing. The candidate will effectively collaborate with
researchers in the Oil industry and environmental protection agencies.
