you can deduct as donated item.
You need to have donation receipt and the guideline will tell you:
one piece of clothes, probably 50c-$2
one big TV, probably $5-10
etc.
Only donate cash might have some effect. e.g., donate $100 in cash and get a
receipt and claim it on your schedule A.

item. from my memory, only donating cash, or probably donating a car will
make some difference. And if you are hit by AMT, no difference at all.
