private tutor exclusively? In your view, is there a way to design summer
camp to be educational vs. babysitting type? The summer camp options are
overwhelming, from the description, it's hard to tell if they are
educational or just for fun and kill time. How do you usually plan for James
' summer time? It's such a long school break. | B******1 发帖数: 9094 | 2 For a student in elementary school, you can choose all kinds of summer camp
. The most popular one for kids in San Diego is the Life Guard camp where
kids can learn all the skills to become a life guard. Other sports camp are
available as well. For example, Boys and Girls Club has fun-filled daily
activities in a camp format.
If a kid wants to learn drama, in Balboa Park there is a drama camp where
kids can perform roles in plays written by Shakespeare. If a kid wants to
learn science, in Carmel Valley Jewish Academy there is a camp called
Gateway Summer School for all sorts of academic and artistic subjects
ranging from chemistry to marine biology, from cooking to painting.
In sum, there are a variety of camps to choose from and it is a parent's job
to choose one for the kid.
We sent James to Gateway Summer Schools for 2 summers and the sports/life
guard for another. The rest of summers we just stayed with the afterschool
program run by a Chinese couple. |
