A New York City wholesales hair accessories company of more than 40 years is
looking for an import manager.
Responsibilities on logistics:
Make weekly consolidation plans and bookings for ocean shipments and air
shipments
Provide sales team and production department shipping options for
special and time sensitive shipments
Communicate with overseas vendors to resolve any shipping issues
Negotiate with freight forwarders regarding pricing and service
Enter the goods' in-transit information into the inventory management
system
Keep track of shipment's delivery status from orient to the final
destination
Estimate and calculate freight costs, duties and landed costs for each
shipment
Responsibilities on customs clearance and compliance:
Prepare shipment info. for Importer Security Filing and making sure each
ISF is on time and accurate
Collect shipping documents and prepare duty-due sheets for customs
clearance
Review samples of new items and determine their HTS code based on
binding rulings and USHTS
Maintain the master classification records
Respond to Requests For Information notices from the customs office
Follow customs news and publications to make sure the company is fully
compliant with current laws and regulations
Qualifications:
College degree and about 3-5 year related experience;
Knowledge of import logistics and US HTS classification;
Excellent written and verbal communication skill;
Excellent computer skills;
Speaking Chinese is preferred. | p*****y
