longitudinal compression is not in scope since only radial strengh is the
concern for this device. so it is not taken care of by all manufacturers.
promus electment was caught in some complicated cases since this product is
soft in the other direction and collapse during multistent procedure.

another ASTM with minimum longitudinal resistance requirement might be
needed.
I quickly check their design, the low stress resistance against longitudinal
stretching or collapsing seems to be resulted from short segment design and
two helical connectors. With improved flexibility, they might sacrifice
too much strength (both longitudinal and torsional).
Would three-helical-connectors be possible?
