/etc/fonts/conf.d/xxxx are links to the configuration scirpts used by
fontconfigyou should never touch them manually, because they might be
overwritten by
an updating. Instead, your distribution should have some tools to manipulate
these scripts, by constructing/deleting links from /etc/fonts/conf.avail to
conf.d. All personal configurations should go to /etc/fonts/local.conf(
globally) or
~/.fonts.con
