for Embryonic Competence) with direct clinical applications and lots of
research projects is looking for a junior PhD level bioinformatics analyst/
scientist (a few years of industry experience is great) or PhD intern to
contribute to our team.
Work environment:
- Our clinical lab processes tens of thousands of samples each year for a
number of different diagnostic assays and we are expanding year over year.
Clinical pipeline development and maintenance is a big part of the
responsibility of the bioinformatics team.
- There are a number of research projects going on at FEC, NGS (both Ion
Torrent and Illumina), microarrays, qPCR, etc. are routinely used in our
research work and clinical applications. A wide array of different projects
require algorithm/method development and data analysis support.
- Clinical trials carried out at the foundation require statistical data
analysis.
Requirements:
- The bioinformatics team is small and handles lots of responsibilities so
we are looking for a strong and contributing new member. A strong sense of
responsibility and competence to carry out some work independently and
proactively is needed.
- Python, R, and SQL are used routinely. Other programming experience,
including C#, Javascript, angularJS, C++, etc are valued. Linux experience
is needed.
- Willingness to adapt to changing needs and learn new things as project
requirements go is considered crucial.
- Competence and willingness to communicate with lab scientists and the
ability to understand biological problems to an adequate degree is necessary.
- General experience with programming, data analysis, bioinformatics, and
statistical genetics are valuable.
- Machine learning and data mining experience/background is valued.
- Exceptional MS level candidates can be considered.
Please understand that I may not be able to get back to all questions and
messages.
Thank you! |
