in IT companies this is very good. Other industry have much better ones.
I think how much a company can match at which percentage reflect whether
that company has plenty of cash.

管你6%还是20%,最多也就这点
$17k/yr for under 50 in 2012; $22.5k/yr for age 50 or above; limits are a
total of traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) contributions. Employee and
employer combined contributions must be lesser of 100% of employee's salary
or $50k ($55.5k for age 50 or above).
