General Job Description:
The Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer will be deployed in a project office. This
individual will work to design, develop, and specify RF designs for cell
sites, in particular using GSM/UMTS technology and add LTE to these sites.
The RF Engineer will report to the Senior RF Engineer.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Review site surveys, design sites with existing RF configuration for LTE
overlay and create new RF datasheets based on the given information from the
survey.
Select new RF components for the new design from antenna, diplexers, Tower
Mounted Amplifier (TMA), antennuators, combiners, and splitters. 3. Select
antenna locations, azimuth, consider for FAA and AM requirements.
Lease exhibit and drawing review
Run AM query and FAA study.
Fill tower colocation application
Maximum permissable exposure (MPE) study and measurement.
Analyze RF design with existing technologies GSM & UMTS for LTE overlay.
Call testing
Site visits for antenna location and candidate selections Identification of
search areas using planning tools, maps, and area visits as required.
Candidate drive tests with appropriate tools as required Post drive test
processing of log files with analysis and recommendations, MPE analysis, and
reports.
Troubleshoot sites.
Use propagation tools for site analysis.
Support zoning submittal and attend zoning hearings.
Sweep review.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or
Telecommunications from an accredited college or university. Equivalent
industry experience (5 or more years in RF design for wireless
telecommunication networks) considered in lieu of degree.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Must have the right to work and remain in the United States without visa
sponsorship.
