I have an old Yamaha 2.1 powered speaker. see linke:

Can I connect this subwoofer to receiver? I have a pair of Monitor 60
speakers, but lack the low. However, something like Pioneer sw-8 might be
too powerful for me, we watch movie when kids sleep anyway.
The way Yamaha subwoofer connected is:
3.5 jack to satellite speaker -> 8 pin mini-din to subwoofer -> a line to
the other satellite.
Power switch is on subwoofer and one satellite.
I could buy a RCA-8 pin mini-din adapter and make use of this old subwoofer.
It will be from receiver to RCA cable, then to this adapter, to subwoofer.
Will this work?
I do not know how the 2.1 speaker works. I suppose the signal comes from one
satellite, to subwoofer then to the other satellite. That means the
subwoofer input line will contain two signals, one for sub, one for the
other satellite? Then inside the sub, it get split out? If that is the
case, maybe I can not connect to receiver?
