i used to carry 4 wedges. now back to 3.
you gotta understand why people needs 4 wedges.
say the course yardsage is about 6400 or less, so 80% of par 4s (10 total)
are about 380 yards and less. if you have a 250 tee shot or longer, the
approach distance would be ur wedge range.
however, if u don't have the 250 yards tee shot, ur approach shot distance
would be 9/8/7, so ur 4 wedges won't be that meaningful.
why some pros need 4 wedges? like i said in the prevous post, for the cou

the problem for me is that golf is never a simple yardage game. i am sure
many other non-professional golfers share my feelings. it's not very
difficult to hit a few 300 yards drives in a round, but it's almost
impossible to avoid hitting a few wayward drives, into the rough, trees,
fairway bunkers, or even into the hazards. all of a sudden a theoretical
driver+wedge hole turned into a driver plus a recovery shot from an awkward
position, and the ne

my understanding is pitching use p wedge, bunker/sand use s wedge.
i never got chance/need to use l wedge. my l wedge is stilled wrapped with
the brand new plastic, although i carry it with me everytime.
course

but in reality, when i play with friends, to me, only two shots count,
1. driver! the one can hit further always got upper-hand,
2. putter!

say, ur 56 s goes 80 yards, ur p's goes 125 yards, a lw can be 52 degree to
cover 100 yards.

| ET 发帖数: 10701 | 8 "so the theory goes, as least i blieve, that after practice, most average
golfers can be a good short game players, ie., hit shots inside 100 yards to
a spot very close to the target, so you always give yourself a makable putt
to save the up and down. once you have a good short game, shooting in the
70s should not be that difficult. "
Trust me, this statement is not true at all. You won't have a good short
game if you don't have a decent long game. Breaking 80's is much farther
than what u 've s

| p***t 发帖数: 51 | 9 Pitching wedge seems like a misnomer. I know a lot of people use sand wedge
or more lofted wedge to pitch.
As for the most important shots that average play percieves, I think
approach shot is very important. At least for me, landing the little ball
close to the pin always makes me happy. |
