I wanna select a dance class next semester in my university. Can you guys
tell me what's the difference between Jazz and Modern dance?

Modern is somewhat anti-tradtional and expressive in different ways from
other dances, hard for lot of people to truely appreciate, and it requires
you to be really open-minded ( in dancing ) to learn, and it is physically
more challenging in many ways
Jazz is something you have seen much more often in the past and will be more
comfortable for you to start with
just my 2 cents...

i'm currently taking ballet. but if i'm going to take a second dance course,
i'll go modern.

the teacher then was much better than the ballet teacher.
btw, are contemporary and modern the same thing?
