theChristchurch earthquake because affected families lost theironly child,
an official said.The country is seeking financial assistance from NewZealand
above the standard levels of compensation, Cheng Lei, aChinese Embassy
official said in a Radio New Zealand interview.Seven of more than 160 people
that lost their lives in themagnitude 6.3 temblor on Feb. 22 were students
from China, whichoperates a one-child policy, according to New Zealand
Police.The Accident Compensation Corp. of New Zealand is assessingclaims
following the quake. The state compensation plan coversanyone living in the
country that suffers an injury or deathcaused by an accident.New Zealand is
unlikely to offer special treatment to thefamilies of Chinese victims,
Education Minister Steven Joycesaid in a separate interview on Radio New
Zealand.About 70 students lost their lives in the Christchurchearthquake
