mRNA degradation. miRNA is partially reverse complement to targeting site,
it inhibit mRNA translation. In addition, the biogenesis of siRNA and miRNA
is somewhat different.

SiRNA need reverse sequence, it comes from mRNA
MiRNA need promoter, like genes

I just had an exam on this question:)
siRNA is exogeneous,about 21nt, usually completely complementary
miRNA is endogeneous, about 70nt, processed to give smaller, mature miRNA of
approximately the same size of that of siRNA; usually not 100%
complementary. Could result in mRNA degradation, inhibition of translation,
etc.. For translation inhibition it binds to 3'UTR most of the times but
some miRNA binds to 5'UTR or intronic regions too
