的书评的时候。毫无疑问，Neal Stephenson是Geek和Nerd的所喜闻乐见的小说家。早
期的《Snow Crash》，出版于1982年，就预见到了全球性的光缆交互式互联网游戏，可
以算是World of Warcraft的前身。而且，里面所描述的虚拟地球，明明就是Google
Earth嘛。后来，1995年出版的《Diamond Age》,则更精彩了，对于Nano科技，以及对
于Steampunk题材的探索，都是跨时代性质的。在《Diamond Age》里，一大部分的情节
发生在一个虚构的亚洲，中国分裂成沿岸共和国和内陆共: 和国，海外有人工大陆新亚
特兰蒂斯，一个小女孩卷入了上海和新亚特兰蒂斯之间的一个连环扣阴谋…
等主题，而且，也是错综复杂的情节，精辟的科技Infodump，这是他作品的一大特色。
这部小说可以说是一本巨著，有上千页。最后，关于网络加密算法的研究，还把算法给
出了Perl代码。书中居然出现了Alan Turing，故事从二战直到二十一世纪，非常引人

早上刚把Reamde 看完，再把你这个帖子翻出来看，很有意思。唯一的小虫是恐怖分子
们是住在马龙他们楼上啊。另外剧情里不解之一是谁把Zula在厦门safe-house 里写在
paper towel上的tell-all 发给她叔叔的。
：基本上，Neal的写作风格可以描述成两点：infodump，以及电影里面的慢镜头一样的
生动的情节动作描写。
这本和他其他的书相比，infodump少很多，情节直到四，五路人马converge到
Prohibition Crick 都抓得我紧紧的，但final shootout 打也打不完，等RPG出来我都
已经没什么力气，只想坏人都死掉就好了 —— 所以结局还是没能满意我，想想
Stephenson如果知道有这样吹毛求疵的读者一定吐血。。。总的来说，非常fun的一个
ride，但看他的书的opportunity cost仍然是高，所以不能无保留推荐，又不知道能把
Anathem排期排到什么时候了。
这两个星期基本上Kindle就是用来看这部书了，正好看完电池也告急了，所以总算知道

今天看了网上有人对几个月前《求是》上发的一个提到政权“禅让”的文章的批驳，说
这与民主是完全对立的。我觉得有点不对劲。
所有的公司都不是民主制度，但很明显好的公司的发展速度要远高于一个国家的发展，
大家在选择公司就业时，也从来不会因为公司是非民主制度而有任何的抱怨。
那么，为什么国家就一定要民主？如果国家一直由禅让制度产生出来的精英治理，可以
保持高速发展，即使不民选国家领导人又能如何？就如同，只要公司做得好，员工生活
有保障，福利和工资不断提高，我是否有权选CEO我并不关心。

冒充研究进化论多年、又转信法XXX功的人，将神创论者常用的“证据”抄来，加进一

看了关于民主疑问的那个帖子，想说两句。
没有人身攻击或贬低的他的意思，但能问出这样的问题，确实说明他在民主、自由、平
等这些人文内容的无知....
这也是国内理科生的常见问题，基本原因是当年国内初高中教育故意忽略或歪曲民主、
自由、平等相关内容的结果，文科生以后上大学、做学问还能把相关知识补上或纠正过
来，理科生基本就悲催了....
回到weiqing问的问题本身，为什么一定要民主？或者为什么现代民主是人类政治制度
发展的必然方向？
这个其实是欧洲启蒙运动的一群思想家通过一系列的论著一步步证明出来的，就象牛顿
定理比亚里士多德的话更接近真理一样，只不过人人平等、民主自由这些是人文领域里
更先进的知识罢了。
要是想知道这个是怎么证明出来的，可以去看启蒙运动相关的历史，以及霍布斯、洛克
、孟德斯鸠、卢梭的著作。

，直到2008年才得了第一个常规赛MVP，而且还有很多争议，说是抢了人家CP3的。同时
期得过冠军的球员，T.Duncan两个，O'Neal一个，Dirk一个，LBJ三个。 O'Neal少是自
己努力程度不是很强，常规赛就是打着玩，如果他好好打，可能还是会多一个。 Dirk
的技术是越来越好，但是因为受国籍，和位置所限，给人的冲击力不够。其他的Allen
，Nash，KG,都得过，Nash还两次。
回来说说O‘Neal，这个人的情商很高。 很会搞关系，每年暑假，他都是忙着参加娱乐
活动。而且很会作秀，每年NBA community 活动，他都是买很多玩具送给孩子，看着很
多，其实花不了多少钱。 给人印象很好。正是因为这样，以至于后来KB，O'Neal分手
，很多美国人都怪罪KB眼里面容不下别人，而且是个大家眼里面很好相处的人，一个和
媒体，其他球员关系很好的人。
由于背上了赶走大家眼中的活宝，O'Neal的罪名，技术，心脏都接近MJ的人只得了一次

cycle里面，neal经常停下来阐述一个原理，讲述bill of exchange的操作机制和股市
的发展还有硬通货的问题。在cryptonomicon里面，他也是停下来说很多加密原理，再
附上源码；在anathem里面，他也是附上专文讨论时空的哲学问题，太有趣了。这些都
是melville开的头啊
neal在cryptonomicon写丝袜fetish的那段也好玩……
neal原来给wired写过一篇海底电缆的专文，被奉为科技写作的经典……
所以我读（到1/3）时都觉不出Moby Dick有什么不让人特别接受的，给鲸鱼分类这种
很可以想象Neal Stephenson也会做。那些1910s重新发现Melville的评书人真是独具慧
眼。
（对比Forsyte Saga虽然写在1920s，读起来却觉得老旧得不行。）

不过关于 real, 我理解的佛法道理还要更进一步，也就是说，
physical的东西也和思想、心理的东西一样，是虚幻的。
差别只是破除此幻觉的难易程度。突破物理局限更难。
你提到的《The Power of Now》很好，正好符合我现在的情况。
这几天差不多看完了，下面是个简单的总结：
1. "The Power of Now" 的作者 Eckhart Tolle 显然是经历了一些真实的东西，
看书的时候就想到另一个书的作者，Neale Donald Walsch
（author of ) .
觉的Tolle 应该是更有真实修证。好奇想对比一下。

That's why he may make them wait a few more days before playing his eagerly
awaited first game debut in purple and orange.
O'Neal, who is learning a new offense and working his way into shape after a
hip injury, is unlikely to play when the Suns visit Golden State on
Wednesday night. After returning from the Bay Area, the team will decide
whether O'Neal will play against Dallas on Thursday night in Phoenix.

前的plan都不能用了。
除了龙哥，另外一个主要原因狗熊能够获胜是绿湾的outside pass rusher几乎全部受
伤。 Mathews和Perry两个主力就不用说了。过去一个月只有两个乳剂合用，还有Neal
这个DE转型的OLB。比赛中还伤了一个叫好的乳剂mulumba，Neal也下场了一段时间接受
队医检查。所以outside的pass rush基本完蛋了。狗熊重兵把守中路，绿湾根本充不进
来。于是McCown可以在口袋中找WR。本来狗熊的WR就比绿湾DB高一大截，没有pass
rush的话，根本防不住，只要球扔出来，WR就能摘下来。
对狮子就是完全不一样的挑战了。狮子的联盟最好之一的DL，对狗熊OL的冲击力是比
MNF时的绿湾要高几个档次。McCown能否有时间把球扔出来，是个很大的问题。
狮子的进攻就更不用说了，四大福加威震天坐阵，你狗熊的盒子里敢放多少人？还能防
的住布什吗？绿湾要是后来RG TJ Lang不是康卡神下场的话，跑功和传防还能继续上半

发帖数: 567 | 48 我觉得绝大多数业余选手，还没高超到玩假动作以假乱真的程度。看球的轨迹我觉得很
难，
而且时间来不及，从动作入手比较实际点。等遇到玩假动作的，再琢磨新对策吧。
Neal在我们这里算高手，但有四个老中灭他没商量。一个是教练，直板，大概2100-，
不过很少出来打。
其他3人，一个女的，直板正胶单面打；一个直板反胶单面，基本上纯推挡防守，辅之
于下旋，什么球都能轻松应付过去，基本上的套路是进攻的人最后精尽人亡；第三个
是横板，正反手反胶，均衡。他们打Neal都不在话下。他们这三个，我看得比较多，
是基本功都太好了，凭经验和手感，接Neal的球没多大问题。
