几个人都是自己锁在领域的编辑
之前都是大公立的名教授
不过感觉挺悬的
数学系负责开基础课 系里收入不高
招进来的学生肯定是TA为主了
时间不能保证不说 新博士点名声也没有
跟老牌学校无法竞争
要是做应数的 那就是到处拉客户帮人家发算法论文
又不是math系的特长 毕竟老学究缺了domain knowledge 也不懂客户数据背后隐藏的物
理特性（例如金融，交通或化工）
有能力情人分析数据发论文的一般也是业内数一数二的公司 大概不会去找个尚未建立
名声的新博士点干这个 除非以前合作过
呵呵 几个老货跳到私校大涨薪
申请了grant发现没学生 code没人写 实验 没人做 论文发不出来

Austin的应数实力要在CMU之上，特别是scientific computing, optimization,
numerical等方向。而CMU只在Math Finance上强过Austin。但另一方面，CMU学校小而
精，学校名气也很大，在工业界口碑不错，将来找工作(非Academic)时是不是更有优势？
各位前辈能不能结合学术水平，职业发展，甚至气候地域等角度谈谈对这两个Program

monthly fee of $20. The student can watch the learning videos online at his
or her own pace. A drawback is that no homework is included in the package.
So you have to buy a few workbook yourself. Considering the fees charged
by a private tutor (about $50 per hour), the $20 per month fee is a steal. |
