多谢Youngeagle包子，他问文字优美的英文书，我推荐了Lamb，Hazlitt，Priestley等几个英国散文家。Youngeagle问起他们的具体文集，我手边的《英国散文名篇欣赏》里正好有些介绍，我就抄上来一起分享。不过这几个作家都很早，尤其Lamb和Hazlitt。最好网上先找一两篇试着读读，如果有兴趣，再去图书馆借文集……哈哈就我省钱。主要是担心买来书如果读不进，太古奥或者生涩或者不对胃口，挺可惜的。上外编的这本《英国散文名篇欣赏》，每篇之前都有作者介绍，选篇都有译文、赏析；即便这样，我本科读的时候还是觉得难。有机会很想再读一读，与喜欢读英语的网友共勉。

Charles Lamb（1775-1834），散文家，评论家。生长在伦敦，父亲在内殿律师学院供
职，幼年在学府的宁静氛围和泰晤士河的自然风光中成长。喜好都市生活，伦敦是其文
学灵感的源泉。与Coleridge相识相知。在东印度公司干过32年。性情温和，充满幽默

发帖数: 820 | 5 1860年6月末一个非洲人和一个美国人在Lambing Flat, 今名Young一带发现了一块重达
7盎司的金块， 而当时Young城区一带只是第一位在此安家的欧洲人詹姆斯~怀特的产羊
羔的羊圈所在地。金子的发现使得“Lambing Flat”名声大噪，各国矿工接踵而至，其
中包括1500名华人矿工。
由于利益冲突，文化背景差异以及当时政治环境的影响，最终欧洲矿工多次发起了针对
华人矿工的平民暴乱，这一年就是1861年，这一暴乱就是澳大利亚历史上非常有名的“
Lambing Flat Riots”。大约2000名欧洲淘金者袭击了中国来的矿民，中国淘金者尽力
回避这些暴力袭击者，大约250人严重受伤，几乎所有的人都失去了全部身家。1861年6
月30日星期天的寒冷早晨，約1000至3000名白人暴民高喊口號，舉著旗幟，拿著從華人
淘金工頭上硬扯下來帶著頭皮和血跡的髮辮作為戰利品，游行走過金礦場。
当时澳大利亚舆论普遍将暴乱的发生归咎于中国人的到来，“为了避免类似大规模暴乱
的发生”，当局通过了一项“排华法”限制非欧洲移民入境澳大利亚，这一法案也就是

boneless lamb leg一只，costco和grocery 都有卖，有三个产地，
USA, Australia和New Zealand， iceland，按好吃程度排列，
可惜iceland的太贵，也不常有，只在9到11月有卖。
调料只要盐，black pepper，rosemary，thyme，混合好。
lamb leg butterfly切开，内外表面抹上混合调料，用棉绳再扎回
leg的样子，放在rack上，有脂肪的那一面向上。下面放一大盘子接
油，免得弄脏oven。
280F到300F（切勿超过300F！！！），烤3.5到4小时。一条leg可吃一
周，每次切几片toaster oven里加热一下就好了。
诀窍在低温（<=300F)和长时间。 |

对比前5项成分：
1）NC的lamb meal就比P的lamb好。因为蛋白质含量高很多。
2）P第3项就是Corn gluten meal。这个是多种过敏源头。
3）P第4项，又是玉米。
4）P第5项，by product,超级烂。
那NC是很好的东西啊，为什么评分不高呢？ |
