Memorial Day Weekend)
开始下雨了，风也越吹越大。原本就被瀑水打湿的衣服此刻贴在身上，湿冷湿
冷的。雨披不但遮雨，而且挡风，穿上以后 果然觉得舒服多了。
从Emerald Pool 已经可以看到远处的Nevada Fall了。接下来我们跨过Merced
River，沿着河岸穿过了一小段较为平坦的树林，走到了Nevada Fall 的脚下。这里可
以近距离地仰视Nevada Fall。Nevada Fall 没有Vernal Fall那么宽，可是却比它高得
多。Nevada Fall 高594ft/181m，它从高崖上俯冲下来，气势磅礴，锐不可挡。尽管我
们很想给Nevada Fall 拍一张漂亮的照片，实际上却非常困难 ，只要我们一端起相机
，从上而下的水珠就会在一瞬间打湿镜头。

准备8月底去加拿大那边的NIAGARA FALL看看，想预订个有FALL VIEW的HOTEL.
在EXPEDIA上看到下面这HOTEL，好像还可以。住Two Queen Fallsview大概185刀一晚。
问题是不知这个5-9楼是不是太矮了，VIEW不够好？怎样才能订到有好VIEW的房间呢？

我是Michael Jackson的粉丝，有一天看到有个叫falling的ID在申请Michael Jackson
版面，就回复说这应该比较难，申请个俱乐部吧，还赞助了100伪币让他开俱乐部，仅

介绍：上周日爬豹子山据说去了近30个人，是有很多带娃的。这次难度稍高，貌似一路风景也还不错。不喜爱爬山的家属可以选择去附近看Snoqualmie Falls(月族大瀑布）、逛outlet，也减轻趴车压力。下山腐败可选择豪华Falls Buffet、Issaquah的Gilman路新开的豆花庄或小四川等。
注意：发完这个爬山消息以后，我发现这个瀑布实际上政府是不鼓励大家去看的，怕影响植被及野山羊的生存环境。所以如果大家这次去的话，千万要注意不要破坏环境。
天气：目前看North Bend周末的天气还行，周六白天说是阴天，可能有雨0.08in（间歇毛毛雨），周日目前的预测还是0.0in，还是建议大家穿稍微有点防雨的服装就好。

刚刚看到小爬客组织（http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sea_littlehikers/）有人在提议去Lake Serene，也是俺很想去的地方啊，不然大家去这个好了，跟Wallace Falls是一个方向的：
We are planning to go to Lake Serene trail tomorrow. The trail is 7.2 miles round trip, with elevation gain of 2000ft. Optionally, you can spur off at half way to the easier bridal veil falls (5 miles round trip with 1100 ft gain), which shares the same trail head with Lake Serene trail. 而是located within the boundary of Falls Church City，邮编22046的一部分）。
Falls Church City唯一的公立高中，George Mason High School，全美排名很靠前啊
。另外，小学和初中从great school看似乎也不错。Falls Church City的交通也比较
方便，离DC近。但认识的中国人好象没有考虑在Falls Church City买房的。有什么原因

但是为什么现在ice lead fall 那么多呢？鄙人的观察是：
1. 风气的问题，见［注一］，
2. 器材的改进，使得基本功不到位，动作不对也能玩得挺欢乐的。不象原来镐柄直，
没有护手托的情况，入冰动作稍有不对，一天下来轻点四个手指都成了胡萝卜，重则骨
关节都碎了。所以也别玩了。
3. 还有就是那些在人工浇筑的冰上的速度攀比赛的负面影响(Ouray, 北京桃源等地）
。速度攀比赛都是top rope climbing,各个点不是很稳也没有啥。新人看着比赛的人这
么爬，也就去瞎学，误以为攀冰就该这么爬，所以四点不靠谱地乱爬，速度倒是不慢。
但是顶绳这么爬习惯了，自以为可以了，要去lead,问题就出来了。
4. 还有就是新人看别人爬mix, 在overhang的情况下，take a lead fall，就误以为自
己爬WI2, WI3也可以这么来一下，跟风装cool。

我们这天最主要的计划是去看Yosemite Fall。把车先停在了Visitor Center
附近的Day Parking。然后乘Shuttle去Visitor Center，在那里可以拿到 Shuttle Map
。在Yosemite Valley里去各个景点最方便的办法不是自己开车，而是乘坐shuttle。
Shuttle一共有21站，转一圈1个小时。比较大的站都是双向行车，比如Curry Village
。从Visitor Center坐两站到Lower Yosemite Fall Trail。
Yosemite Falls是Yosemite公园的四大名瀑之首，是北美落差最高的瀑布739
metres (2,420 ft)， 一共有三段，Upper Falls，Lower Falls，中间的Middle

虽然多绕了一些路程，不过没怎么影响我们的行程。我们沿着SR26一路向东，这条路笔
直，只有一些平缓的起伏，两侧都是农场和种植园，牧草，果树是最常见的了，很有趣
，有一个农场还打出中文广告，"我们的牧草远销中国"。
下一站是Palouse Falls，从90到Palouse Falls，途经Othello，在Washtucna，右转，
沿260公路南下，之后再次左转，261公路一直通到Palouse Falls。261两侧更加荒芜，
但是还会有零星的农场，让人很难想象这些人如何在这里生活。

不过我的表现不大好，本本坏了，MIC也不对劲～～～，歌也练的不熟。

好久没照相了。上周末抽空去了趟Wallace Fall
春天游雨林，到处一片嫩绿色，确实别有风味。

trail才走到头了。）
