Four People Die on Mt. Everest
Four climbers from Germany, South Korea, China and Canada have died
returning from the summit of Mount Everest, tour agents and officials
said Monday, with one other mountaineer also missing.
The 61-year-old German and the South Korean aged 44 died on the south
face of the world's highest peak on Sunday, Ang Tshering Sherpa of the

, CA, from a trip to the Mt Everest in May, 2008. Quang and a team of four
Southern Californians, including Bud Allen, David Liano,and Bill Burke,
successfully summited the Mt Everest from the south route staring in Nepal.
I am posting a few photographs they took during the trip.
I am going to resume hiking and mountaineering training with him soon again!

The North Ridge of Everest lays wholly within the country of Tibet.
This is the route pioneered by the British in the 1920's and 30's.
It was the sight of the great Mallory and Irvine epic of 1924, and
was first climbed to the summit in 1974 by a team of Chinese climbers.

analogy. If you have done something extremely difficult, then are you going
to do it again just because somebody won't believe you have done it? You can
ask any climber who may just climbed mount everest last month, or last year
whether they want to do it again. I bet not many of them will want to do it
. Why? Because they already proved themselves, no more glory for doing it
again. No material gain from doing it, either. |

其中谈到几个国家登山的历史，谈到
60 年(？)中国从北坡过那些三个STEP，
其中三人早晨四点多到达峰顶，后来
下到28，000 多英尺立了个标志，但是
峰顶没有。那个时候欧美都拒绝承认
中国人登顶成功。有哪位知道关于
这个历史的？有哪个网站没有可以看看？

47岁的韩奇生长于中国，幼时被挑选成为体操选手，之后进入中国国家队；他与同是前
中国国家体操队队员的妻子陈逸文（Yiwen Chen，音译），2004年在北卡罗来纳州开设
体操馆“Everest Gymnastics”。
纽时指出，韩奇未涉及性侵，但该馆学员说，韩奇几乎每天都情绪失控， 令学员提心
吊胆，不知道那一刻他会情绪爆发。

Everest(国内称撼路者)试驾中途，车辆突然起火，目前公司正在调查起火原因，并表
示现在还不会召回。
据悉，发生故障的Everest SUV是在澳洲设计，泰国进行组装。周二下午在纽卡素(
Newcastle)附近进行Everest试驾的记者巴恩维尔(Peter Barnwell)表示，在试驾过程
中汽车的警告灯亮起，然后仪表盘没有了显示，引擎也停止了工作。后来汽车就起了火
，火苗是从引擎盖下面蹿出来的，接着吞没了车厢。虽然消防员在5分钟内赶到了现场
，但扑灭火焰则花了20多分钟。
目前，汽车残骸已于2日下午送到了澳大利亚福特公司位于墨尔本的工程总部，并
着手进行事故调查。如果调查的结果是福特汽车本身存在潜在的安全隐患，福特将必须

今年K2攀登分为南北两侧。南边经过艰难准备，大约11名攀登者于今晨冲顶。原来天气
预报天气应不错，但实际是强风，根本不能冲顶。攀登者们别无选择，只能放弃。经过
5个小时已安全下撤到大本营。南面的K2攀登基本宣告结束。北面的著名登山女将
Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner等三人还没到达突击营地，目前还不知他们今后几天计划。K2
自2008年大灾难以来已两年无人登顶，今年结果如何，要看Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner他
们的结果。Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner已完成13座8000米山峰，K2是她最后一座。在所有
攀登中，她都是无氧攀登，没有大团队，而且经常选择非常规线路，是登山女性中的佼
佼者。

据最新消息，Kaltenbrunner他们在C4营地休息了一天等待。在这么高的海拔滞留一天
很不寻常，所以今天（8月8号星期一）必须面临的决定是：冲顶或下撤。目前还不知他

season最简单路线的难度
麦金利从大本营到山顶的elevation gain比everest高，但是难度和everest不是一个量
级的
论技术难度，这两座山的最成熟路线都没有任何技术难度，所谓难，主要体现在：
1. 海拔
2. 天气
3. logistic
如果跟着商业队上去，3一般就不用考虑了
从天气看，两座山即便在最佳登山季节也没太大差别
但是从海拔看，everest比麦金利难太多了
另外，登山的准备和花费也不一样
麦金利，谁赞助我5千，给我半年时间做训练和准备，上去问题不大
珠峰，登山的价格X10吧，训练的时间也要更长，最后能否登顶，完全是未知
看看每年成功登顶麦金利和珠峰的人数对比，以及登顶成功率，死亡人数这几个数字，
就能看出差别了 |
