w********6 发帖数: 12977 | 38 training for ultra is different, I am not sure that you should run a 50m
in training, maybe a very high MPW? |
|
w********6 发帖数: 12977 | 39 Just googled an ultra training plan for 100m, indeed they have long run
from 25-50m every 3-4 week, the last week before tapering, it is every
week a long run of 35-45m, man, that is tough!!!! |
|
w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 40 I've had worse ankle injuries before (on the other foot, actually). I know there isn't any ruptured tendon
or anything like that, just a very bad inflammation. My right foot is
swollen like a baby's foot, and I cannot flex my ankle to less than 90
degree. But I can walk just fine on forefoot now. I'll be staying at home
for a couple days, no extended walking. |
|
w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 41 Yes, I didn't run long enough in training, and I didn't have a good tapering
. I took 100m too lightly. I'm going to start doing very long weekend runs
when I recover from this. |
|
w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 42 Actually I don't think I ran too fast at the beginning. The sign of running
too fast a pace is hitting the wall and worn-out of the muscle -- neither of
which happened to me. In fact, you are supposed to run a extremely positive
split in a 24-hour race. When Scott Jurek set the American record in 24-
hour run, he started at 7:00 pace and finished averaging 8:34 pace.
Similarly, when Yiannis Kouros set the world record in 24-hour run, he ran
the first 3 hours at 6:52 pace, and ended up averaging |

|
w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 45 I don't think it could be attributed to my shoes. For instance, it wouldn't
explain why my left foot feels completely fine. I actually suspect that
kicking a soccer ball a few times when I took my daughter out had affected
my right ankle, but it wasn't anything intense. After all, I had no problem
during the first 50 miles. A 24 hour run is so long that any minor weakness
can and likely will be exposed. I would attribute the main cause of my
injury to insufficient recovery from my marathon. Also |
