31 dives under my weightbelt. Well, I don't really wear a weightbelt
nowadays, as my instructor Leon and my buddy Agnes had persuaded me out of

tables and make dive plans. We make plans by assuming we dive at the highest
altitude en route to the dive site. Accordingly, the numbers in the dive
table may be interpreted differently. For example, depending on the actual
altitude, you may be a B diver even before your first dive, and 80 feet deep
may correspond to 100 feet at sea level. I never used a computer, so can't
comment on that.

snorkling的话, 平时la jolla cove看鱼，7-9月份marine room看鲨鱼，5-8月份有救
生员带领的3r program.
scuba的话, 以前写的偏重boat dive：
如果你从来没在美国西岸潜水的话，San Diego可能是你best bet! 这里最靠南，所以
水温相对会高一点点，还有比较特殊的kelp植被和鱼种，再加上海狮和海豹，几乎可以
算是完美的冷水潜水。
如果是初学者的话，我强烈推荐墨西哥的coronados，很多local diveshop都有tour过
去，我曾经跟船Lois Ann http://www.loisann.com/过去，都是40多feet的dive site，还有特别可爱的小海狮在身边游来游去，是非常unique的experience。行船途中还很有可能遇到野生海豚，那些海豚特别喜欢玩，会围着船，离脚下不到两米远，真是可爱！
如果你已经是潜水高手，对wreck dive情有独钟，那么San Diego也是你的best bet!

发帖数: 18174 | 10 非常重视小孩出发，你是很有见地的家长。
不要翻那么大幅度。让小孩从deck开始练。脚趾头扣住边缘，两脚一前一后（track
start），屁股尽量高。让小孩锁定这个姿势，给指令，让小孩像滚雪球一样，前滚1/4
入水。因为不高，所以头的位置和视线无所谓。
第二步，练习手推（注意是推，不是抓，不是拉）deck边缘，同样的姿势入水。
第三步，开始调整脖子松紧和视线。这就是教练的口头禅jump forward and look
backward。怕水的心理障碍如果难以克服，这时可以闭上眼睛。无数顶尖好手出发时选
择闭眼睛，这不是问题。很多人看到的越少，只靠声音，反而效果更好。
第四步，全身从上到下所有的关节都要lock，成streamline入水。这时离水面高度仍然
比较低，小孩有前面三步基础，应该不会害怕被拍疼。
到现在为止，没有提到“蹬”，绝大部分人想当然认为最重要的一环。感谢80年代matt
biondi的神一样的表演，elite swimmers从80年代开始就意识到，it is ok to lose

些dive shop通常非常popular，很早就订满了，等你到了店里当天的dive估计根本就订
不到。而且因为他们很popular，他们也不一定会到码头来举牌子宣传。
当然如果你不那么serious的话，也可以随处看到一个dive shop就去订，但是服务可能
就没有什么保证了。 |

you are not banned from the using the computer during recreational dives
but you still should do your own calculations based on GUE standards
and we do different stops (1 deep and then 9/6/3m)
the computer may not agree on that...
for tech diving, they don't use dive computers at all
since the algorithms don't take into account of deep stops |

发帖数: 19471 | 15 Groupon有deal的时候拿的，大概400吧。但我建议去夏威夷做certifying dive -- 容
易多了而且那边的dive shop有服务意识。如果不是旅游城市，dive shop一般都有那种
所谓的dive shop attitude，简单讲就是又脏又破又苦又累而且态度多半极为生硬。
pool lesson可以在本地上，然后去夏威夷之类地方certify。
Mask最好买自己的--好的mask很舒服而且视野好很多。Mares的就很好。snorkel无所谓
，买个便宜的、轻的就好了。

unless those are booked out that day.
for afternoon dives, check in time is 12:30 , boat leaves marina at 1:00 and
back around 4:30 pm.

不用上课的，开船出海的时候会在船上给你上45分钟到1小时的课，然后一个dive
master会带2个discovery diver下水。MM要是容易晕车晕船的话千万记住吃晕船药，头
天晚上一课，第二天早上再吃一颗。所有的diving gear都是可以租的。 |

Boat dive. Stay for 28 minutes at 18m.
It was my first dive after I got my certificate. Kind of nervous and excited
, so I used up my air very quickly (sorry, buddy!) It was a drift dive,
starting from 5m sand bottom and swam down to 18m bottom with some coral.
Saw a green turtle. The bottom had some beautiful layer coral, but I didn't
have much time there. :-( Saw lots of special fish, although I could name
none of them. Someone saw sea shark on this site the |

in summer. Some people dive with drysuit in other seasons.

我跟教练抱怨说如果用long hose，怕和别人潜人家不会用
教练说你上完这个课，hopefully应该有足够的awareness
能够主动donate air，不用等着别人来拿，lol
另外也没有说recreational绝对不能用电脑
就是说要自己算，keep in mind这个差别
反正我胆儿小，你让我用air去40米深的地方，我自己先犯憷了
我觉得应该最大的差别是在tech diving上面
估计是不能和非GUE diver一起tech diving了
不过。。。你真的愿意和不熟悉的人tech diving 嘛。。。 |

stop，基本就是慢慢潜下去，然后就一点点再浮上来，没什么真正在dive的时间，尤其
是第一次 ；）
第二天的training说是deep dive, 应该会有意思些吧. 我其实倾向于选择一来着, 便
宜些, 而且也能看看cancun海底如果前两天training都一样的话, 我........ |

of days), snorkeling, and visiting the Mayan Ruins and the town.
i am not a beach person, lying on the beach and people watching is
definitely not my thing. so if you are, we probably wont be able to do much
together.
i am more a hiking and diving person. we can be diving buddies.

海底很清澈， 各种色彩的鱼和珊瑚，
比较特别的是第一次dive看到一只巨大的鳗鱼藏在石缝中
第二次dive看到一只小章鱼躲在珊瑚下， instructor把它小心拿出来， 喷了巨大一团
墨，触角一伸一缩的， 吸附在手臂上
可惜没看到海龟 和 小鲨鱼
总体还是很赞的！ |

I am going there again this week. But blueknight may not be able to make it

You must have certificate. You have done beach dive before. prefer you are
strong swimmer can take care of yourself. and we can help each other.
I will spearfish you can choose to do or not.
this area has a lot of kelp so we have to be prepared.

有人问在哪里上课， 在Northern Virginia， Fairfax, Pam Am Shopping Center.
从66，243 出来， 就看的到。
另外有人问危险吗？ 这个肯定比橄榄球危险， 但是比攀岩啥的危险度要小一些。 另
外， 有些人天生有心理障碍， 也不适合。 我就看到一个diving buddy到了水里忘了
呼吸的。 |

This time I visited a new site called "Moat Creek", about 50 minutes more
driving then Timber Cove, which I visited the most.
The forecast was very calm but there were some waves at Moat Creek to my
surprise. Some waves were good enough for surfing. There were areas with no
broken wave for better diving.
The visibility was the worst that I have ever seen. You cannot see your
hands clearly and you cannot see your fins at all.

in Malibu. I may have another dive on 10/18 Sunday in the same area or
Santa Barbara area depending on the condition and time.
dter is a SCUBA diver and I am a freediver. Both of us are novice divers.

这是我第一次在太平洋潜水，寒冷的太平洋。
在Sports Chalet订的tour, charter 是Lois Ann，一条小船，能容纳20个divers。
Eric 是我们的dive master，负责零零碎碎的事宜，并不跟我们下去潜水。
潜水的地点在Coronado 群岛，属于墨西哥海域，从San Diego出发只有20多英里的路程
，而且不用护照签证，嘿嘿。我们的小船一路乘风破浪，遇到海豚无数。那些海豚好像
特别喜欢和我们玩，就围着我们的船。有几头偏偏就在船头游的飞快。站在船头，看到
脚下离我不到两米远的海豚，真是可爱！因为Pacific Ocean比较冷，只有华氏50度左
右，还好我穿了7mm厚的wetsuit，还有hood vest |

low volume means the volume in the mask is low so that when you dive deep,
you have less volume to charge from your limit a single breath of air. it
applys to free diving only,scuba diver doesn't care it. if you wear glasses,
you may consider buying those masks with two separate glasses. you may
upgrade it to mask with correction lens later. I am -2.5 on both eyes and
usually do not wear lens in water.

概述：2009年3月29日，第一次“真正”下海潜水，并通过考核，成为新鲜scuba diver
。兴奋之情未过，特以此文，发扬新手BSO精神，推广小众运动，发展未来buddy。
先得谢谢LostAtlantis，如果不是她已有潜水证我大概根本想不起有这项运动。其记述
中的一句话更是让我下定了决心：“眼前的一切的一切，都是我想像中的。但是，比想
像要完美一千倍一万倍！
那些以前只是在书里，电视电影里看到的东西，就那样活生生地呈现在我的眼前，目不
暇接，感觉就像在做梦一样。那些美丽绚烂的鱼儿，千奇百怪的海底生物，不顾一切地
向我眼前扑来。我没有准备， totally overwhelmed。”
下定决心后开始研究LA的潜水学校。最后选择的是一家离家较近，规模较大的（Eco
Dive Center）。这两点标准现在看来也 |
