较杂，project比较小，没有那么多rules可以follow，但这也给了很多灵活性，
clinical相对比较死板。
不能说non-clinical就一定不好，方向窄，clinical一定好。目前的情况确实是由于
FDA的要求，各大药厂注重clinical这一块，clinical的职位openning比较多，所以跳
槽也就相对比较容易，但从业人数也更多，竞争也更激烈。而且现在clinical部门，已
经一半以上都是中国人（基本都是PHD），经常开会都用中文，有一些因为平时得不到
锻炼，英文很烂。中国人多的地方，你懂的，竞争激烈，不知道什么时候你才能胜出，
而且这个趋势正在加强。non-clinical人数少，竞争也少，中国人占的比例会少很多（
据我所知，15%左右），语言能力要求高一些，还有不少的Master（当然都是有工作经
验的）。所以具体在某个人身上，也很难说谁好谁不好。我个人觉得如果是Master的话

clinical chemistry fellowship program的优点是，读出来考了board后就有资格可以
做clinical lab的director，管理一个实验室和手下的medical technologists，工资
怎么也有10万以上，和传统的career path:
medical technologist -->
medical technologist supervisor --> director 相比省下不少时间。
但是走这条路的风险也是有的：
1. 竞争激烈：全美只有不到20个clinical chemistry fellowship program，我所在学
校的最近申请的人都有3年以上的博士后经验以及5篇以上的学术文章。
2. 毕业后就业不容易：我说的就业不易是针对没有在clinical lab里做过检验的人而
言的，我是phd candidate，就没有这方面的经验，不知道这个版上的人有没有相关经

小弟美国化学硕士毕业（做生物质谱的），准备往clinical chemistry方向发展。
最近得知Cleveland State University和 Cleveland Clinic有个Clinical
Bioanalytical Chemistry的博士项目，专门培养clinical chemist。（也是美国唯一
一个clinical chemistry博士项目）。博士毕业后考American Board of Clinical
Chemistry的certificate。有可能要继续做2年clinical chemistry fellowship再找工
作。
不知有没有大侠熟悉这个项目的？Cleveland State University名气好像不怎么样，虽
然Cleveland Clinic是全美排名第4的医院。还有这个博士项目出来career path怎么样？

发帖数: 144 | 50 本人女，一般美国大学PhD在读第三年了，专业是微生物。研究的课题是益生菌，就是
研究益生菌益生机理，平时的主要技术就是构造突变体，然后拿它做各种生物assay，
显微镜，荧光标记cofocal...HPLC, LC-MS,鱼类实验（我们实验室是研究鱼的益生菌的
）...
最近开始关注毕业找工作的事情，发现从monster上看到的绝大多数都是有关clinical
laboratory 或者food science（这俩一般招的是master,干manager的），再次就是生
物制药公司招scientist的或者manager(PhD or master)。
我们微生物系有两部分，一是以我老板为例，搞research science的；另外一个就是搞
clinical的，但是只有bs和ms，没有PhD.所以，我想我要不要利用这个条件（我们系开
设clinical的专业）再辅修一个ms in clinical呢？但是一想，老板肯定不愿意，我多
选一门课，他都说：没用，你好好做实验就行了。或者，我可以背着他自己偷着考个
